Rob, thanks so much for pointing us to the Michael V. Smith video. I followed the links to the Woodhaven EcoArt project and I urge everyone to do the same. Lots to contemplate and enjoy.
Given that Valentine’s Day has just passed, here is an article from the Tyee, “Go Ahead, Write a Love Poem.”
That site started me wandering. I clicked on Russell Thornton's poem, “My Mother and the Rain” and discovered a new (for me) ecopoet. Then, I followed his link to an essay on the ecopoetics of McKay, Lilburn, and Thornton in the online journal, The University of the Fraser Valley Research Review. The Winter 2010 issue is devoted to Landscape, Self, and Intercultural Narratives in BC and Pacific Northwest Literature (Vol. 3, Issue 1). Lots to ponder here, too.
A very time-consuming business this following of poetic threads! But such fun—enjoy.
Barb
